Parables & Decks

I’ve been asked quite a bit by our community why I don’t have more decks on Castle. It’s a fair question and I’m working on changing that… I’ve struggled quite a bit with what decks I want to make. For anyone unfamiliar, decks are things that people post on Castle. Decks can be anything really. They’re interactive media that can have artwork, images, animations, sound, physics, and scripts attached to them. They’re essentially games, but it’s hard to classify all of the things people make on Castle as games…

Castle comment

Considering many folks on the platform are younger, and idolize my identity and the rest of the dev team on Castle, there’s an opportunity to educate them through game play… Two things are evident, the kids want new super heroes and the kids NEED principles. I’m going to share parables through my decks. My partner Xi and I listened to the audiobook of the Courage to be Disliked by Ichiro Kishimi and Fumitake Koga. It’s a book about the philosophy and psychology of Adler. It moved me quite a bit, so I’m going to create something around forming horizontal relationships, which was one of the core principles of Adler.

Here’s a ice cream shop simulation deck that my friend ben made:
